Default Homemade RAM-AIR!! LOL

Here's what some buddies fabbed up on my car the other night. Excuse the dirtiness! I think it came out pretty damn good for the racer on a budget.....

You can kind of see in this pic where i cut (and all the extra i cut off) alot of peole are afraid to cut into this but as you can see mine is pretty hacked up. stock hood latch still works perfect. My car wouldn't survive a head on collision, but if that ever happens i'll just buy an f body shell and transfer all my parts over.

The more I see this, the more I like it. Nice job bro!!

How are you guys getting the holes or better yet, what are you making the attachments with on the underside of the air box??

I gotta get SUX to come do the hatchet job on my daily driver....I'll supply the beverages and the cutting tools.

Those two holes in the grille are completely sealed so all the air going in there has no where else to go but up lol!

Why would they? You do know that the air for cooling the radiator doesn't come from the grill, right?

Has anyone see the pre-fabbed vents from Coleman Racing? I dont know if the dimensions would work out but it sure does look close. Less fab work for those that do not have access to welders and such....this would be for the lower air box portion.

no but im going to lowes and check and see what they have.. i think it would be better to have one 6 inch hose rather then 2 4's.... have it replace teh whole opening in the grill like the madman and then reduce into a 6 inch hose to go around the hood latch stuff ect... for those without a pin on hood... im going to look at both of these and try to come up with something b/t the two that flows pretty good...

and right now i have the front end off my car literally so its the perfect time to do so

Yes I know where the air comes from but 2 - 4" hoses in front of the radiator just seems like it would lose some air flow ...(IMO) and where I'm at I sometimes get stuck in stop and go traffic with like 95 deg days .

thats why I cut out the front grill area and did the big gulp mod

I drive my car on the highway in 100 degree Texas heat at 3,500 rpms for about 50 min staight with no problems.th350, 5100 stall with a HUGE tranny cooler taking up about half the radiator. It gets a little warm but actually cools of when i slow down.
