What paints have you been using on your roll bar tubing?

POR-15.... just thin it out a little (or not if you want it THICK) and put it right on. I just painted right over the rust (very little to begin with) and everything and the coat is nice and thick and looks great.

POR-15 works badass. I painted the cage in my '69 with the gloss black type. Brushed it on with a typical 2" wide bristle brush, and it dried smooth and glossy. Much easier to brush paint a cage too, less mess and no overspray like a rattle can.

I didn't have to thin it, painted it right from the can. It goes on thick and dries smooth. A tiny little can will paint an entire 6-pt rollbar no problem. A little goes a LONG way with this stuff.

Click on the Eastwood banner to the right of the main page, they used to carry it. Looks like they have their own brand now, you might call them to see if it is comparible.

I painted my cage when I painted my hood, same color as car, PPG paint, and used self etching primer on it along with the same primer for my 9", but painted my 9" with charchoal hammertone.
