Default Rear sway bar

I just recently installed a 12 bolt and I am waiting for the sway bar bushings to come in. How much if any will it affect my times/take off at the track, b/c I'm going there w/o the sway bar on?

If you're running any times at all it starts to get a little dangerous to run without one.

Not to hijack.. but cant you run the car without a rear sway bar if you are running air bags? With the bags being preloaded, wont that take the twist out if the rear?

yes u can run the car without a rear bar on, my buddy has a ls1 runnin 11.70's without one. so to answer your question, YES you can run without one. But to be fair he did say his car was a little loose on the top end. So for the mean time id run it without one but get it on asap.

I don't run a rear sway bar and haven't for years. I have an airbag in the right rear spring and it launches straight.

I run around everywhere with my front one off, but I wouldn't feel safe running without the rear one. I guess I would worry about the rear end trying to find it's way off the car somehow

Go out and try slamming the brakes in an empty parking lot at even 60mph. How does it react? Straight or does it want to pull?

Straight as can be, even in the rain. I daily drive mine without it, for over 10,000 miles, and not one single problem.

I had mine off for a few days. It rocked like a friggin cruise ship around turns. I thought I was joecool until I got scolded by some of the fastest, most well respected drag racers on the board. It obviously can be done, but there is no advanatge that I have heard of. The 10-15lbs it weighs is no biggie, espicially since it is right over the rear tires, and helps keep both tires firmly planted while launching....less frame twist.

I was told if anything, get a beefier one!
