Launch it wrong and you will have to gain $3000 for a new 9 inch or 12 bolt

one helluva seat-of-the-pants difference. Not to mention the ability to get good power without downshifting as often. It always seems to be in the sweet spot compared to the 3.42s------unless you are in 5th or 6th.

I don't think my question was "How does a rearend hold up with 4.10's launching like a retard at 7000rpm?"

I been drag racing for quite some time and was see'ing what gains are typical for f-body's.

4.10s with a 6 speed don't require a retard launching at 7k rpms to blow up a stock rear end. It doesn't take that much to shell one of these things

I don't think I said you have to launch it like a retard at the track to break the rear end....now did I? As stated above STOCK gears can break the rear end, 4.10's make it even weaker.

I gained 0.3 in the 1/4 going from 3.42's to 4.10's. I generally race on street tires and don't leave at a high rpm. With the lower gear you can walk it out and not worry about a bog. You just have to learn to drive your car. My 60ft times vary from 2.03 to 2.15 which ain't too bad for a M6 car on 400 treadwear tires with lots of front wheel drives continually carrying water to the starting line. The gear has been in the car for about 12,000 or 13,000 miles now with no problems. It's the best bang for the buck mod out there and should be the 1st mod on any M6 car...and you are still only turning 2000 rpm's at 74 mph!

6 tenths going from 3.23 to 4.10, but that's with a V6.

I only had my 3.42s for maybe a month until they exploded....I really dont remember what they felt like lol. 4.11s are fun though for sure.
