Default what studs?

just ordered the prostars for the front now i need to figure out which studs to buy. the car is a daily driver and the prostars are for track days only. id like to keep my chrome lug nuts but i dont think that is an option with a longer stud as i will need an open end style for my zr1's correct? i see arp offers 2 lengths to fit our cars. the 3.25 and the 2.5 versions. which will i need? remember this is for the front i dont have the rears yet.

i have the stock ones on the front of mine. i have 15x3.5 prostars with a 3/16th spacer and the ss/t style lug nuts. works fine.

well i was going to go with the 5/16 spacer as i want absolutely no grinding on the front calipers. the rears will be enough damage.

I run 5/16 with no grinding. I use the 2.75" studs and they're really not even enough to clear the thick-*** pro-stars. Anyway, to answer your question, the chrome caps won't go over the longer studs. I guess you could put a spacer on when you run your stock wheels just to bring it out enough to be able to use the caps, just a thought...

Stock studs on the front here, 5/16" spacer to go with them. No grinding was required. I got just as many turns on my lugnuts (SST mags) on the Prostars as I was getting with my stock 16x8s, so I feel safe

You shouldn't!!! If the threads of the stud don't engage the threads of the hex portion of the nut then you are relying on the thin barrel of the shank to hold your wheel on. Not safe. Measure the thickness of the steel of the barrel and then realize that the torque is pulling the on hex nut with this thin cross section. If you use proper length studs they engage the hex nut portion and it clamps the wheel on from the outside like you're supposed to.
