Default Module under dash on driver's side

I'm in the process of losing some weight and I've heard there is a module under the dash on the driver's side that controls the abs, cruise and traction control. I think I found it but want to be sure. I traced the red/black twisted pair from my abs module and they definately go to this block. There are a bunch of wires going in the front and a bunch coming out the back. Is this what I'm looking for. I was having a hard time believing I would save any weight until I seen the gang of wires on this thing. Thanks for any help. I just want to make sure before I start cutting.

the module under the dash that you are looking for is bolted up all the way under the dash. Like, if you laid on the floor of the car and looked straight up under the dash above the pedals and everything, it's tucked away up there.

If memory serves, there are 2 small connectors of wires that run into it, and the module is about 8"x12". Held on by either 1 or 2 small(10mm) bolts. It doesn't weigh much either.

I can't get a pic to work. It appears to have 1 8mm bolt in the middle of it that holds it down. It's more of a terminal block then module. My car is a 98 if that matters. It's to the left of the steering colume down underneith. Also how does the connector on the driver's side firewall come apart? It looks like there is some kind of glue or sealant on it. I got it popped out but can't get it apart.

that isn't a box. It is a connector block that joins together the main interior, main underhood, and interior accessory harnesses together. Take that out and not very much of your car will work.

The cruise control/TCS control box is further up above that, bolted to the metal.

yeah. EFILive always tells me that mine is missing when I scan for DTCs. The replacement underhood harness that I put in my car didn't have provisions on it for TCS so I left it all off (which effectively also killed my ABS).

If I ever make it out into the shop to take pictures of parts I need to sell, I'll be sure and snap a picture of it.

I just checked and I can't see any other boxes in there anywhere. I know the sensors from my front wheels go into that block in the pic and then to the back sensors. Thanks for your help so far.

It is only there if you had traction control, here is a pic out of the service manual. Whole thing with the connectors probably doesnt weigh a pound,

I'm in the process of a similer task right now. Does that box just control the gas pedal when the traction control was activated? Can I rip it and all the wiring out since I've done away with abs, cruise and tcs? thanks

Yes, its just a module for the TCS actuator, mine has been gone for over a year. Like I said it doesnt weigh much but it all adds up
