Default Storage life of MT slicks.

Got a set of mt slicks, they have about 5 passes on them. They have been setting up for a couple of years. Are they still any good. Or what do I need to do to get them back in shape, if possible. Thanks.

I don't like using old slicks. I'd try to peddle them off and get a newer set.

If they are kept in a controlled climate (either covered or stored away from heat and cold) and stacked on their sides they are usually good for a few years. New ones work a little better, but not like yours are junk if they meet the above req's.

grab hold of the side wall and bend them in, see if you have any cracks in the side walls if so burn them.

How about brand new ones that you haven't used yet. Got a set of 29.5x10.5x15's Et drags that I bought new but put in storage since I am over here in the desert.....

I have been running a set that I had on my third gen with no issues that are 4 years old and pull 1.6 60ft. with a 26" tire. I have a new set of 28" but my old 26" tires worked great. Tires were stored in a heated garage and stacked on there sides

Spray some WD-40 on the tread and let them set overnight.

if they were stored inside the house, or in a climate controlled garage... and were kept on their sides, and in the dark.. and assuming theres nothing wrong with them like dryrot, cuts, ect and they look normal...they're fine to use.

if they were stored on the tread, theres probly a flatspot on there by now. if they were near ozone or in the sun, they're harder.. (and if it was really bad, they would have dryrot...)

there are people on here that use their ET streets for season after season when they can... and their tires last over 3 years without issue.
