Question about tire size Is it possible to lose 2 tenths off your sixty foot by going with a 2 inch taller tire. This is what happened to me last night. I finally got the car back together with all the new parts and went with a 28x11.50x16 mickey thompson e/t street and only cut a 1.8 sixty ft. With the old heads and cam with the same converter with a 26x10.50x16 i was cutting 1.6 sixty fts and occasionally 1.59's. dont know if this helps but i have 3.73 gears in it and also raised the car back up to factory ride height. The car was on eibach lowering springs when i cut the 1.6's.
Sounds like either the car didn't like the decreased rear gear ratio due to the taller tire, or the chassis angle/atitude didn't care for the change that the tire caused. I'd suspect they are hooking of you were hooking with the others......If no power changes were made and ou went to the bigger tire, I'd guess that your converter/gear were just enough to get your car to where it was, adding tire height was the culprit, it's like going from a 3.73 back to a 3.55 or so. If the gear is the case, I wouldn't go changing the rear gear to compensate, I'd just add more power
