Default anybody running a vacuum pump with a race EWP?

I was really wanting to get a vacuum pump setup, but the kits I've seen are not going to work on my setup. I am running a Meziere EWP and the only accessory I'm running is an alternator. the pumps I've seen run off a piggyback pully on the tensioner, but I no longer have one. I can not just put one back in there either, because of the race ewp

so, does anybody have a setup like mine that is running vaccum pump? if so, how is it set up?

TIA

That is a tool chest from a foundry. It's really heavy duty. Has wheels too. I always use it to set the engine and k-frame on when I pull or reinstall the engine.

Yes it's the stock tensioner. Modified abit but stock.

All you need is the Aerospace billet drive pulley that bolts to the balancer pulley.. You can get them from Summit/Jegs. Look in the section that has the vac. pumps and you will see the Aerospace accessories..

I have the aerospace vac. pump as well as the drive pulley on my 408. It works fine with a EWP also.

Why would someone need a vacuum pump?

For proper brake pressure when running a large cam in an auto?

what did you use for a bracket to mount the pump? I'm assuming everyone is fabbing something up.

also, what is the difference between a 3 and 4 vane pump?

thanks for the info.

judging by where it is located i would think that the AC mounting locations on the block would be a good candidate for mounting the pump...

not sure on the difference between the 3 and 4 vane pumps.. i bought mine from LOnSLO and he had a home made bracket for it to mount on the bottom passenger side.

Did you ever see mine John . I can get another bracket like mine and you 'll be good to go if you have the aerospace vacum pump. Let me know.

15 inchs on a wet sump, more on a dry sump with pressurized wrist pin oiling. The higher vacuum pulls the oil mist out of the wrist pins and can cause them to gall. The 4 vane pump is for larger displacement engines 500 and larger, as they have a massive amount of crank case space. In short the 4 vane moves a lot more air. I have an Ati dampner with a CV product drive mandrel on mine with a custom bracket that mounts to the drivers side cylinder head where the power steering once was. The drive for my pump uses a cog type belt rather than a standard v-belt.

It depends on your motor. You can regulate it. I 'm pulling between 10 and 12.
If I don't regulate mine it pulls 15.
