Wolfe 10pt install pics Figured I'd throw these up here, lot of work but its done. I am pretty good at TIG welding but climbing around inside the car and welding these bars was a bit of a challenge for a 6'4" out of shape 43 year old but it turned out well for a first (and most likely last) effort.
Getting started pics, making sure everything fits. The jig notchng was just about perfect from wolfe, I'm glad I got that done.

A few 1/2 done pics, I was able to move everything around where I was able to weld it all around through the T-top openings and paint the top, Only mistake is I should have welded the floor plated for the front bars outside the car, turned out being the be the biggest bitch welding the tubes to the plates in the car..

Since I am a big guy I pretty mutty mutch had to bolt the seat to the floor, modified an old corbeau seat bracket - cant get any lower without cutting the floor out

Some finished pics. Lot of work but it had to be done, I already had the welder so it didnt cost me much in materials but it wasnt a bad job. Of course when I did this it was the hottest week all year lol.
Looks pretty good kp, at least from what I can tell.
Total of lack welding skills = I had Bill Buck do my cage.
We started with using a Wolfe kit as the basis, and it worked out pretty well. Two bars had to be bent from scratch as they came wrong from Wolfe, but the rest of the kit was great.

After getting the runaround from local chassis guys and seeing some of their work I figured I couldnt do any worst. As far as I know there is only one 'real' chassis shop in the area and they kept putting me off 3 months at a time. I'm sure it was better then the bolt in 6pt I had and I'm a decent weldor, but somewhat lazy

Got any pics of the bars going through the dash?
I'm not even going to bother with the 6 point, just going with a 10 to get it done with. Did you have a 6 before?
I believe thats for 10.0 and quicker right?
Did you have to notch the firewall on the drivers side? Can't tell from your pics.

You have to cut a notch in the dash sheet metal for the drivers bar, not really the firewall.I had a 6pt bolt in bar but didnt use any of it, sold it seperate.
9.9999 or 135mph needs a roll cage.

Ironically I was looking at the Wolfe 10 point earlier with a buddy. I would much rather get it over with than weld a 6 point and then have to pull it for a 10 point.
The only thing I was really curious about was the mounting points and how they could be used the tighten up the chassis in key places. Or if there were any more benifits from running tubing to other points. I like the way the wolfe ties to the rear shock points.

I would have rather just dropped the car off somewhere and had a custom cage done but no one wanted to do it local..
That looks pretty good IMO. I'm in the same boat, I'm 6'3 and weigh about 275, I tried to get in noyzee's car one day, and felt like a 5 lb sack of potatoes that someone was trying ot shove in a 3 lb bucket LOL. Luckily we have a guy in CT that does alot of eastside's cars ( look at the pic's of the 25.2 outlaw 10.5 car they started) and I'll have him do mine when teh time comes, but overall I think yours came out good! What did you have to remove/relocate under the dash to get that in... I am figuring when I do it I'll mostl likly either ditch the heat or at least modify it so I have a defroster/feet warmer only, remove the ductowrk to the dash vents as they are all gonna be full of guages by then anyway.. just trying to get a feel for what I have in store.
How did hte dash come apart too? Easy, or is it a nightmare? I'm planning on a removable steering wheel, so I can get in and out a little easier, plus I think it wil be cool to go to a car show and pull the wheel off and climb out, and cary it around.. anyone asks, it's the security system LOL.

I'm about 235-240 and its no problem with the wheel if I tilt the column up. My main complaint is my helmet rests on the side bar, it would have to ne 3" higher for it to clear and thats just not possible. I have the seat moved as far to the right and as low as it can go. Its not that bad but the .500 SFI padding is pretty stiff..
I already had all the heat and AC stuff out. The dash bar cleared everything fine but I dont think the defroster ducts would fit. Legally if the firewall isnt modified you dont need the dash bar but I put it in anyhow. I have been working on cars for a lot of years and these dashes are easy compared to some, just a lot of screws and a little time the frist time you pull one.

good to hear about the dash. If the crossbar isn't required, I might skip that then, as the defroster is somethig I'll want on the rarity that I take my car out to a cruise... nothign worse then trying to drive home with a fogged up windshield at night. The one thing that I thoguht would have made noyzee's car easier to get in and out was if the main hoop itself was farther back, bhe's shorter then I am so he had the seat up alot farther then I ever will, and I'll be in the same boat as you with the seat as far over to center as I can go too I'm sure. The removable wheel, like I said, is my security system LOL. Not that mu neibhorhood is that bad, but it's not the best either, and if anyone were to ever break into the garage, they aren't gonna be trying to steal a car with no steering wheel.
Jesus, is there anything you can't do? I don't know why you even drive an F body, you should have just made a tube chassis and made your own sheet metal and built a drivetrain. It might have taken you 2 or 3 weekends!
