Default Level car?? then set pinion angle??

I recently installed a UMI adj. TA, I had the car level/stock height on 17's but when I put on my drag setup the nose of the car is about 2* lower than the rear because of the 28's. Should I raise the front to level it back out before I set the pinion angle??

If you want the pinion angle to be correct for track duty then you would probably want to set the pinion angle with the car in "drag" form. Thats just my opinion though. So leave the car the way it is and set it up. Yeah it will be a little off when you go back to the 17's, but I'd rather it be correct on the slicks rather than on the street tires.

Pinion angle is the difference between the angle of the pinion and the angle of the output shaft of the transmission. It needs to be set with the car sitting on ground, not jacked up in the air.

For even further accuracy, have the driver sitting in the car when the angle is set.

Default measuring angle

Sorry I dont mean to hack your thread, but I just purchased the same TA. Did you get something in with the TA to measure the angle. Im just currious what everyone uses to measure the angle for setting up the TA?

No i didnt I bought a magnetic angle finder from autozone for $10. Only problem in having right now is that according to UMI's instructions you add the angle between the driveshaft and the pinion angle to get the true angle. But according to instructions from other brand TA's it says to subtract the angles rather than add
