Default track times...launching problems

14.26 @ 101.11 with a 2.36 60'. the car was running hard and well, and VERY consistent just like last time but i couldnt launch the pig to save my ***. I would either bog it by not giving it enough gas or spin the nittos. dumping it and then jerking it a bit, bogging down a slight bit and tromping it seemed to work best, i think thats what netted me the best time, just kinda in the middle but its so hard to launch these cars. BTW this was my best of 7 runs, so i need to decide what i wanna do about tires for next time and a rear end....hmmmm any thoughts or ideas.

it was really hit or miss, they either spun or it bogged, but NOT because they hooked. i was running 315-35-17 Nittos at about 28 PSI and i didnt heat them at all. should i drop the pressure a ton and heat em up a bit before i launch? honestly it seems like 2.3 is just so damn slow compared to these 1.8s, which ive seen all over these sites with DRs and stock rearends. am i just being to cautous with the 7.5" or what? Seemed kinda violent on the 2.3 60's where it kinda jumped and didnt bog or spin at all, but that is still a crap launch. all the other ones were 2.4 and 2.5. i was thinking a 2.0 would be cake with these nittos but apparently not.

i pulled a 2.2 with my old Z on shitty bald street tires and that car was mostly stock.

any advice or tips would be so great, im pissed with all this money ive spent and the blood sweat and tears and all night trying to break into a damn 13! i cant do it.lol

i can post slips if neccessary but i think i covered the 3 main things.

OK, I apologize. I’ve been where you are and I know it is frustrating. Lower pressure will probably help – try 22 psi and launch at around 2500 rpm. You need to experiment. You need finesse. Try not mashing the throttle. For low sixtys on Nittos you will probably need to slip the clutch. You’re correct , 2.0 should be cake. Good luck.

thanks for understanding, thats an answer i was looking for.

anyways, do you think get it up around 2,500 and slipping will work? i can tell you right now, i always dumped it and mashed it and it eiether spun or bogged and the best times i pulled(2.3)lol, were by by slipping it a bit, but no where near what ive slipped it at on the street and i know i could get out fast that way.hmm.

maybe slipping from a higher RPM like 2500 and rolling into it will work better huh? thanks

M6 F-body owners can learn from experienced Z06 drivers like Ranger and J-Rod. Here is Ranger's tutorial from the Corvette forum.
