Default Removing Rubber

I have tried using the search, but its not working at the moment. I have been trying to figure out the best way to get the rubber of the back fenders of my car. I never had much of a problem until I started using the et drags.

Thansk for any help you guys can give me

cool paint. wd40 (heavy) on the rubber. pressure washer at a car wash (the not so high pressure). comes off for the most part. i would say 75-80%.

the rest you can take off by soap and watter.

Simple green works well. I tried burnout guard and that works as well, but leaves nasty residue marks on the paint that requires cleaner wax to take off

Yea, the Simple Green works about as well as anything I've tried. Burnout guard stained the paint on one of my cars.

Some of the darndest stuff for me to get off the car is that summer formula dry traction emprover stuff that a few of the tracks still use. That stuff sucks when it gets layered on with water box goo, burnt rubber and all the other track nasties.

Some of the stick on shelf liner paper works well if you want to protect your paint on your street car. It peels off easily without leaving any residue.

I have always used PPG DX330, its a wax and grease remover for paint prep. It works really well, tends to get a bit messy cause it kinda eats the rubber but it won't hurt the paint abit. It is reasonably priced at around $20 a gallon but could possibly buy it in smaller containers. You may also want to wear gloves just to keep the black off your hands.
good luck

i just use wax. go to the track and put it on before the first run on the bumper cover. after the night just wipe the wax and rubber right off.

Yep, great idea.

You could also just use the semi-stick blue duct tape and throw a few strips where ever rubber tends to stick.

Thanks for the input guys. I plan on doing the wax deal next time I go. The main thing right now is getting the old stuff off.
