OK I`m going to send the pics to another Tech member now to post. I`m going to send a pic. that has two white towels layed on top of the ozite. The towels represent the wrinkles that were the hardest to deal with. Keep in minde that this carpet was glued down so you see every bend and wire in the car.

Straight Line Performance has some light weight carpet for $209.00, and they are also a sponsor on the site.

I just tried them and they no longer have it available

Is the only way now to DIY.

Hopefully you can post up some pictures of the DIY so I can determine if this is the way I want to go.

I really need to get some weight out of the car.

Thanks in advance.

I got the car back, but I was busy this weekend. I haven't had time to put all the interior back in so the pics will be without most of the interior. I will try and take some today when I get off work.

After I first saw this post I sat and thought it's the sound deadening stuff that weighs the carpet down. So I pulled the seats and pulled up the deadening stuff from the bottome of the rear floorboard all the way up to the pedals and same spot on the passenger side. I weighed it and it was 14lbs. Now I notice there is alot of deadening stuff up under the dash so I assume there is atleast another 14lbs there. So for us budget racers save a little cash and just rip out that stuff and keep the stock carpet.

I'm sure they don't have it in 80" widths. You would have to 2 piece it.

It wasn't 80" width, But for the budget racer they could make it work. Me personally I'd rather buy an uncut carpet kit for my car and go from there.
