Looks amazing like all of your work Brian. I had a quick question though.... are all of the joints on the cm fully welded around? It seems like it would be imposible to completely weld around some of the tubes when there against the floors or against the body panels.

Im sure Brian did this car the same was we did mine, you fit all the tubes in the car and tack them in place. Then drop the tacked unit down from the body of the car enough to weld the cage-frame work fully and then put the unit back up into place in the car and weld the unit into the car.

bingo..well that's how i did mine... i actually built the whole floor of my car outside the car after getting the perimeter made under it
in this pic you can see what me and outlaw are talking about, as my cage is hanging down about 10 inches..at this point in the pic the whole underneath of the car was done and fully welded, then i started up top.. same goes for doing the main hoop and front down bars where they attached to the floor bars, drop it down and everything was accesible for welding under the car..
brian more then likely did it the same way ...
i love how that car looks... I really like pontiacs..

so what about simple 6 point or 10 point cages where people aren't cutting out the floors to drop them? I did my 10 point like you all said. I was just wondering what other people were doing. Sorry to get off topic.

25.1 - 25.2 require you to have the "cage" mounted to a "frame" that must be made to spec bar, material and bar placement. A normal cage can be mounted to plates that are welded to the floor. So to do the 25.1 - 25.2 style frame work, you have to go through the floor to mate to the under frame work and considering the floor board is in the way. you have to get creative and plan ahead more then a welded to plate style cage.
Here is a picture of the frame work under my car.. will show you how much work it is to do what Brian has done with this car, Jay did with his and I had to do with mine to get that 25.2 cert

69Vette, I do my 10 points and 6 points a little different. I place the plates down and cleco them to the floor. Then I build my cage. After the cage is together I can remove the clecos and move the cage around a little. Of course some of the welds have to be done with a mirror to see the joints.
On the 25.2 stuff I did what Outlaw and NRC did. I have a 2003 Cobra I am doing next and that one I will be citting the roof off. This is a 25.5 I just finished

Brian, just out of curiousity how many ft. of cm do you generally have in a 25.2 cage like the trans am? How much are you exspecting the car to weigh when its all finished up?
