Default meziere racepump fitting leaking

I cant get it to stop leaking. When I installed the fittings I used pipe paste. I have it about as tight as I think it can go. I just cant get this pos to stop. Has anyone else had this problem? lil help

Yes I did. Just 3 weeks ago. I used teflon tape on the original install. Mine was OK for 3 years or so and all of a sudden it decided to start leaking. What tipped me off was a squeeling serpentine belt It was the lower hose fitting, I took the hose off and to my suprise the fitting was REALLY LOOSE. I mean REALLY LOOSE.

I drained the water, cleaned everything up and used pipe paste this time. This time I cranked it tight with vice grips. I check the top fitting and it was a little loose but not bad at all.

I knicked the finish a little but it's tight now. I will check this item frequently from now on

I am going to take it apart today and try rtv sealer. I found the directions they said use that or paste

I just used Teflon tape on mine... No problems so far.. However I do think I have some air in my system somewhere because my temp guage keeps jumping up and down and its running a little warmer than it should be..
