Hoosier loves you
Are you running the C-06 or the C-07 compound in the Brackets?

The Hoosier DOT Drag Radial is surprisingly close in contruction to the Radial Slick.
The standard radial slick is a C07 compound. The lightweight radial slick uses a slightly different C06 compound.
The DOT D/R uses the same C06 compound as the radial slick.
Just last week I spoke with one of Hoosiers tire engineers who worked on designing the radial slicks & DOT D/R tires.
best I can tell, they are almost the same tire with the DOT D/R having two grooves and being DOT approved for most all D/R racing classes.
I msyelf am seriously considering a pair of the 325/50 DOT D/R's to compare against the M/T's I ran the past few seasons.

YO-EL,
Hmm, a 17x11 rim w/ a spacer on a C-5
Ok, I understand why you are looking at that tire now. Yes, that tire will work well for you...probably a good choice with that rim.
good luck with it

According to the Hoosier engineer I spoke with, their sidewall is softer than the M/T's.
BUT, being a 17" rim, your not gonna have much sidewall to wrinkle and it will be a measurably stiffer sidewall due to it being shorter compared to say a 28" tire on a 15" rim.
Here's an example.
325 M/T Et Radial with 18 lbs air pressure.

Its the one your talking about ... DOT DR with 2 grooves in it.
I also ran the M/T DR's most of the year and they wrinkle like that also.
The hoosier hooks as good as the M/T and its 8lbs lighter

I run the Hoosier QTP's 15X11.5s and they are great! DOT rated too! I go through these pretty fast but I do race 1-2 times per week! I think they are DOT approved simply because they have the 2 grooves in the tire, but they LOOK like slicks! Stick good too!! (This is pair #3 in the 2 years I have been racing!)
