I designed mine using Solidworks.

I printed out a 1:1 to make sure the brackets would fit. I got a piece of cardboard put it on top of the studs, and pushed them through to get the bolt pattern. I then layed the printout over it to make sure they were the right size.

I had them made of 1 1/4" width, 3/16 thick mild steel. I think the length was 20". I drilled the holes last. The brackets aren't perpendicular to the driver, because of the offset of the studs they are a little off to the right but the Kirkey econo. drag seat is big enough that they'll cover the brackets just nicely.

I slapped them together for to make a race date, quick and dirty. I weigh 240-250lbs and was hitting borderline low 1.6 60's so far and no sight of problems so far, or flexing for that matter. The seat flexes more than the brackets do . Also did a little bit of FEA to make sure they would hold.

They are actually a little to tall for me and I need shorten them an inch or so and get the seat moved back a little. Also need to lengthen the mounting portion so hit holds more of the seat but they worked great for the time I put into them.

They cost me $50 to have made.

Scam those look nice. Do you run with a helmet and not hit the roof?

A few folks have come up with different ideas that work.

Here's the link to my approach - http://nextracing.net/Mambo/index.ph...id=5&Itemid=29

Do 4th gens have a flat floor? I want to mount a set of Kirkey seats in my 3rd gen but the floor drops in the back.

I run a helmet and don't hit the roof but I would hit the T-top if I were to roll over. I want to give myself a little bit more space.

Kirkey's universal seat brackets will mount your seat to your existing roll bar tubes. They're specially designed for Kirkey's road race seat, but can also be used with any other seat.

Those by themselves will not work with a factory F-body floor. I used them in combination with a modified Corbeau bracket. It worked really well and I have tons of adjustability. Only problem is the corbeau bracket is heavy and it takes alittle creativity to lighten it up.

Looks like several very ?? ways of mounting a seat.
A look at the rules is suggested.

i welded a pair of 1" square tubes directly to the floorboard "supports", and then bolted the kirkey universal seat mounts to the tubes. carpet covers up the tubing, and all you see is the pretty aluminum brackets.
