I cannot get my car to launch well(need help)

it is an A3 with 5000 torque conveter, the car moves when the rpm passes the 2500 , i can not get it to stall at least at 4000, what could be the problem ? could it be the brakes? can the line lock cause that? help my troubeshoot plz

Get a transbrake. Maybe you got the wrong converter. Only way to tell is if you get the t brake.

Get the car moving in 2nd or 3rd gear about 15mph and floor it. see what the tach goes to. that is your flash as long as the tired dont break loose. If its not high enough then get it re stalled or get a different converter

If you are foot braking a 5000 rpm stall it will start pulling around 2500-3000 depending on the weight of the car and the brakes. The line lock would lock your front tires only. If you have skinnies you have almost no holding power on the front brakes. If you are foot braking you need front and back brakes to hold the car on the line with the rpm's up.
