I have a Strange Coil over kit on my car. The Afco's are most likely the best, does everbody need them? I dont think so, I have a buddy that run 9.3x's with 50/50 Lakewoods.

They are both good shocks.. The price difference isn't huge, but I believe the Strange pieces are a little cheaper. AFCO's are the best, but you don't really need them on a 9-12 sec car either.

FWIW, I've discussed this with MADMAN. He doesn't care for the QA1s, he said they were unpredictable to different inputs.

He rated AFCO #1 and Strange as his 2nd choice

I'm pretty positive that you can... I know you can with the AFCO and QA1's so I'm sure the Strange is the same in that aspect.

Madman just said that he'd change the setting with no apparent change in how the car reacted...very unpredictable

My QA1's work like a champ. I adjust them and they do what there suppost to do. I respect Madman and all the work he does. But I disagree with his commment. Maybe he had a bad set or something was wrong with the valve in the shock.

The QA1's have worked well for me.. I adjusted mine down from 4 clicks to 2 clicks saturday night and I could tell a huge difference. It wouldnt hook on the motor (1.68 60ft N/A spinning) with them on 4 clicks so I put them on 2 clicks and sprayed it and it went 1.45 60ft. So, they work... You will find QA1's on the majority of the fast cars on this board. The AFCO's are better shocks, but I don't think they are needed unless you are making some serious power and running really fast.

If you are going to the double adjustables shocks then either the AFCO or the Strange is the way to go. The QA1 vavling isnt right and the piston is too small to work properly on extension. I have had quite a few customers try them and we have taken them off and replaced them with a quality shock and the car has reponded.

I have had both the AFCOs and stranges on the back of my car. The AFCOs are nicely made but they really need to step into the 1960's and at least put some clicks on the adjuster on top so you know where you are for that kind of money, 1/16 of a turn makes a huge difference on them.

I would buy the Strange DA rears to be honest, but to be really honest none of them worked any better then the 50.00 50/50 CEs I'm using now lol - granted 1.28 60's for a 3450lb car isnt all that great..

So how do you know where your adjustment is on Afco's if they don't click?
