You dont save that much weight taking 6" off the rear total, you are adding more going to a DR over a slick.
I cant see narowing a perfectly fine rear end myself either, lot of $$ to spend just to look cooler with a deeper dish. If you are buying new I dont see a reason not to narrow it some though.

well thts what i meant...when people buy them already done...i think its for weight...you stil have the same tire weight...so maybe 20 pounds? but i wouldent cut up a good one for it either

Shorter tubes and axles dont flex as much but 3" on that long of rear wont make much difference. I think some people do it because the the wheels they want arent available in a 7.5 BS or they are minitubbing the car and want to narrow the overall track. But I would guess most do it simply because it looks better

She is Moser 12 stock length with Bogart DOS2s in a 7.5 back space.
Nope I don't drive them on the street. Then again we have only ever seen one failure unless you crystal ball tells us more.
I called Bogart direct and worked back and forth for a few years. when it was time to buy he sent me to SMJ. Very top notch set of people.
On the one we did see Fail SMJ did a direct exchange no charge from what I understand

I have had 2 fail Less than 1,000 miles on both.
One doing 60 on the highway the other going 5 mph.
Will they replace my car when it goes into a ditch?

No trimming the front 1/4, I have adjustable control arms, and made sure it was centered.

Agreed. A friend of mine was driving next to me and we both hit a small ripple in the road at about 30mph...not bad at all and I heard a big boom like a shotgun. Come to find out my friend's wheel came apart and the outer rim hit my car's 1/4 panel causing a few small dents/chips in the paint. I am not a fan of those wheels for a street car. Especially when you see that epoxy was the only thing holding that wheel together. I couldn't imaging driving like 80mph and having those come apart on you.

1. Racecars are gay Mr. ZERO STREET MILES!!
2. Every lightweight drag racing wheel has the same warning but I have not heard of them falling apart like my bogarts did.
3. Mine were welded and that is where the wheel broke, the weld failed not the material.
4. I'm sure they have sold 1,000's of sets that have not broke but mine and a few others have, maybe yours will be OK..... maybe not.

3" of gun drilled 35spline axle, 1.5lb maybe. 3" of 2.50x3" tube, 2lbs. So 7lbs for both sides.

Polar inertia as well as weight distribuition on the tires with offset plays a part in in too
i´m using 9"Ford Rear form Broncos in 66-77 are 5" shorter axle flange to flange so 2,5" each side so you can use 15X10 with 5" bs or less and adjust the tires

Ellis, do you have any pictures from behind the car (a little ways back) I haven't seen many pictures of Camaro's with the 325's, just a lot of trans ams. I'm curious to know how mine will look when its finished.
