Default Found cure to cluster lights after ABS delete

*This only applies to people to who left their ABS harness in after deleting ABS*

I was about to remove the gauge cluster to remove the ABS INOP and BRAKE lights since they've been bugging me ever since I deleted ABS, when I decided to screw around w/ the ABS harness. I started grounding out each pin one at a time with no success. I then found a pin-out of the harness and found that pin 12 is a ground. So I think began jumpering (if that's a word) the pins w/o an assignment to pin 12. Success.

Jumper pin 7 to pin 12 to turn off the ABS INOP light.
Jumper pin 16 to pin 12 to turn off the BRAKE light. (The light works like normal, indicating when the E-brake is on or off)

The pins are labeled on the connector so it's a 5 minute job max. No more Christmas tree on the dash when I turn on my car.

Not sure if this is old news, but I haven't seen any cure on here besides pulling the bulb.

Sweet, I'm glad you posted that up. Maybe my cluster will look alittle less like a christmas tree now.

Dumb question: Where is the harness (plug) I need to access to jump these out?

I'm pretty sure that only works on 98 cars.

yes this is only got 98 cars, been there done that. On any other year its near impossible as the abs goes through another logic computer so you dont know the pin settings. Just black them out or live with them

I currently have a 98 and both lights are on cause of my staggered tire sizes. the whole system will be yanked when I do a 9 inch, and was curious exatly how you did this. Which harness/plug did you do this to. Thanks for the information, this is a good fix for people with 98 car's.

The harness plugs into the ABS block on the drivers side of the engine bay. Once you delete ABS, the harness is either left in and hangs free or some people choose to remove it to save a few more lbs.

You said you had a pinout sheet on this connector. Could you post up a copy of the sheet or at least what it says each pin is for? That way I can compare to my 96 cars pinout to see if its an idea I can adapt to my ol' Lt1 car?

i swapped in a ls1 dash in my car.
no abs here.
stupid light.
i used a 45 ohm resistor and it keeps the light off. pretty sure its a light green wire(SMALL ONE!) the larger is the high beam i think?
others ive heard hook it to the pink wire on a 0-90ohm sending unit and ABS INOP comes on when you are low on gas. i know this wont work in a ls1 sending unit, but try the resistor.
worked for me.
good luck.

I sure was hoping it would work for the 01-02 cars

Thanks for passing on the info though.
