02 sensor hurt wot performance?

Default 02 sensor hurt wot performance?

can a front passenger 02 sensor. hurt your time in the 1/4?

when i got tuned after my lt headers/exhaust/airlid i ended with 333 rwhp and 340 tq. a little wihle after then a ses light came on and the problems began. nothing major but i could tell the car sdidnt run good

well went to track ran the time i now have. well all during that time and months after my car was acting sick. would try and quit on me in idle sometimes will cruising the rpms would bounce aounrd sounded like it was strugeling. after a while i found that the front passenger 02 sensor had one wire that was spliced had come undone. after i reconnected it and took it to advance auto and removed the code. the car ran like a different machine. very smooth more responsive.

i dont know if it was disconencted during tuning or not their was no ses light yet at that time. but can an 02 sensor affect performance during WOT?

02s are only used for part throttle driving, i don't think they affect WOT

shouldn't during wot. only during open loop like when idleing. it shouldn't affect closed loop which would be wot

yes that staement is vice versa
open loop= WOT
closed loop = idleing/crusing
how ever it does still use the 02's under WOT

If your car was running lean and the fuel trims indicated this, then the computer would add that much more fuel to your WOT fueling. The O2 are not used during WOT, the LTFT will butt in if the computer sees they are on the plus side. Sounds like your tuner only tuned WOT and did not touch the part throttle stuff, because if he did then even in open loop your performance should not have degraded. If the O2 sensor fails to operate to the satisfaction of the computer, then it will revert back to open loop and use exclusively the low octane timing table. Now with a working O2, your computer can satifactorly enter closed loop and enable the high octane table. Which would mean better performance.

dunno. i just know after i fixed the 02 sensor. the car runs much better.

It's not supposed to effect WOT, but I found that if you have a bad one, and the tune is off, & running rich, it can foul out your plugs, which will effect performance. You cant run around the pits @ WOT, so if you leave them in the car, it will eventually affect the motor somehow.

BTW, I found that the BOSH o2's have a lifetime waranty, if you buy them @ NAPA. Just exchange, no problems. Good luck.
