do you have just the front shocks or rear shocks too?

hows the track prep this time of year in NC? right now im sure there isnt that many racers or competition runs... on test N tune nights the tracks around here always lack prep...

what does your car weigh? if you have rear shocks loosen up the extension a few clicks and try that... then use your compression on the rear shocks to drive the car straight if its trying to wonder...

if you have the extension as loose as it gets you might need some bigger tires... if your under 3700lb race weight you should be good for some 1.49 60' if you dont want to buy new wheels and tires get some scrap metal and strap it in your trunk... keep adding more untill you can drop the clutch at atlest 5krpm and make it stick

hey man, were u running at mooresville or fayettville? And as said above. if you dont like them, ill meet you somewhere tomorrow to buy them off ya lol Hopefully we can get u squared away.

I will add this. With your H/C package tuned right, Id guess through a 6sp ur making around 420-430RWHP. A friend of mine from fayettville was running Similar power numbers and he HAD to use a 28 in tire on 15's to help knock down the shock of a clutch dump. 26's with 16's dont give you much sidewall at all. I think this is where most of your problems lie.

I think numerically higher gear, 28's on 15's, and if the rear will hold, you should with proper suspension tuning be able to stick 5.5-6K clutch dumps all day long.

whats up matt, iv talked ot you be in the past on other sites, i was in Jacksonvill NC sunday i live near there.

you are right with the stock rear and gear i put down 425 at the wheels after i put in the moser 9in it whent ot 408 at the wheels. so yes i got the rear to hold the clutch dumps.

had are you wanting ot buy the tires i have now? they might be for sell soon.
got a friend that got a new set of 28x12.5x16 ET streets, but not sure if they will fit on my car with out cutting. i all ready got the inside fender wells bet in for my 17x11 rims.

they rear has 4.11 in it, all so scared that the 28 will hurt my motor times, but then again think it might help since id probly be able ot leave the line harder.

just seemed car left harder with the stock stuff on it. thats what dissapoints me the most after spending the money on these new shocks

Nah man, im gonna go with 28's on my 15" convo pros i just picked up yesterday. The 12.5 will prolly be REALLY hard to make fit.

WIth a 4.11 gear youd prolly be good. Were about to put 3.70's with 28's on dabes car when he does his 9in. This came under reccomendation from 2 chassis shops and jeff @ RPM. with 4.11's ud be fine.

The car I was reffering to was brad's car(Squintz Palladoris). HIs car left hard as hell with his 6K clutch dumps and stuck HARD.

What name do you post under on other boards? PM me if uve got any questions.

The 28in tire will help alot, I went through the same thing when my car was a six speed. The shock on the tires going from zero load to a clutch dump is just too much for that small side wall. I would also go with a stiff sidewall slick. If it's an option, I also think you should go with an anti-roll bar.

someone else asked this but I did not see an answer... Do you have the Fronts AND rears? If you've only installed the fronts and are expecting to get a drastic improvement your setting yourself up for disappointment. The suspension is something that really needs to work as a unit, so that you can dial in the front to rear weight transfer. Running fronts only will help to get the weight shifted rearward, but without the rears there to plant the tires it becomes a waisted effort.

My front QA1's are double adjustable so I cannot even compare to single adjustables. But here's the extremely general rule of thumb as I understand it:
Fronts: stiffer compression with a soft rebound(extension)
Rears: stiffer copression and rebound

As a baseline to start with on my QA1's I went right in the middle of the range for the rear (single adjustable) and 12compression 9 rebound. The double adjustables have 24 clicks each ****.

i go by the same name on all the other boards Matt, and i rember Squintz car.
im thinking the 28x12.5 might fit, my 26x11.5 MT says the tread width is 9.70in and 11.5 side wall to side wall, the 12.5 is a true 10in tread but 12.5 side wall to side wall. friend said he let me try them to see if they fit. maybe ill get lucky, if not ill go with a 28x11.5x16 tire
