For your vette the best compromise of traction/looks...I'd suggest a 17x9 wheel that accepts a 275/40/17 M/T DR. That would give the best traction and retain the looks.

I can't see a M/T ET street (bias-ply) being made in 18s, I don't think the tire would function that well..there is absolutely no sidewall.
