Default Electric Shifters

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? I was going to use a biondo solenoid and thier rpm box. The box is part # RPM-1SHIFT. I was also wondering if the car has the limiter at 7400 what rpm should I set the box for? In other words how fast do they shift?

I used a shiftnoid and another brand in other cars. They shift pretty quick, but sometimes the trans will lag a little on a shift so start a little lower (6800 if you want it to shift at 7000) and work your way up. I assume you are using a PG, lot of TH400s hesitate a little on the 1-2 shift and you will need a dual stage box if you want it perfect.

It's the same as shifting it yourself. Find the spot the cars likes best. Like it was said, you might have to fudge the chip a little, chips and relays can be off a little.

if it's the same as shifting yourself.. then why do people use them?? I see some C02 shifter deals too.. What's up with those? How beneficial are these shifters(electric and others) compared to man powered shifting

i think most people use them to be more consistent

Its more consistant and one less thing to worry about when driving the car. Just removes one variable that can get screwed up during an actual race. I'd have one in here if I didnt have to remove the console to install it with the TH400 setup. If I switch to a glide I'll probably put one in.

I thought you meant finding the sweet spot, perfect rpm to set ur shifter.

I use elect because I don't like all the air lines & filling bottles.

I just want one so I can drink pepsi and nachos as I drive down the track. I think it will help me and i wont hit the rev limiter
