Default Wolfe lightweight door panels installed. (pics)

Glued some light automotive carpet on and my brother wired up the new window switches.

Finally someone has posted up pics of these. Thank you. I've been searching for pics of them for along time. :

How did the panels look and fit in raw alum.? I'm thinking of doing a pair in brushed aluminium with pro mod style door handles.

Thanks alot guys. They looked good in just the aluminum but some of the race events you have to have a finished interior so I decided to carpet it.
The stock panels are about 20lbs for both and these weigh less than 5lbs for both.
I also took out the door bars and obviously the speakers.
Saved 40lbs total give or take.

So you still have power windows? How did you work that. I'd really like to do the door panel, but don't really want to try to find good NBM roll-up doors. Just any kind of momentary switch work? Thanks.

I bough a switch kit from Jegs. I can post the part # if anyone is interested but I have NO IDEA how to wire it, my brother did it for me and he's still has the passenger side to do.

I dunno if I like it or not, I like the idea of saving 40 lbs off the car that part I like alot.. I think I'd have to see it in person to make a final determination.

The apparent screws/rivits, are they what are holding the panel on? Maybe getting some paitn to touch them to a grey color to hide them a little in the carpet might help. I'd have to carpet mine black to match the ebony interior.. so maybe with a black painted screw it would look o.k.

I'll now definately have to make an E-town trip this year, even if it's just to watch so I can see these up close.

did you have any trouble getting them in and over the top of the door? mine felt liek they didn't want to go over and fit when i test fitted so i figured i would wait a few weeks to make sure i don't f anything else up and go at it with a clear head.

I used #8 nylon plugs with screws instead of the rivets so I could take the panels off if neccessary. You've got to use the flattest screw head possible because there isn't much room bewteen the door edge and the weather stripping. At first I used a rounder headed philips and the door had trouble closing so I went with a flatter flat head.
The stockers look better, no question-but I'm looking to save as much weight as possible and still have some style points, plus being able to race when complete interiors are required. I drive it on the street but it's mainly a track and weekend car.

It was a tight fit over the top of the door but it fits very well, I was surprised at how well.

I'm at about the same point you are.. my car's no way a daily anymore, couuldn't even do it if I wanted to. I seriously thought about a set of firebird panels and crank up windows, but all the hassle didn't seem like it was gonna add up to enough to be worth it.

What you have done may be worth it to me, I just wanna see it in person first.

I would definaltely do what you dod with screws, even if I had to spin the screws in a lathe and trim the head down a little I'd do it I have the means to do that type of stuff so it may make it easier.
