QA1s are rebuildable. You just have to send them back to an authorized shop. I think it is around $60 or so.

Most run stock springs and just their shocks in the back. I personally run stock springs and Comp Eng shocks. The backs you can get from QA1 just like stock or they do offer a coilover type setup (Part # 736-QSA) just like the fronts that are ride height adjustable.

If you want to upgrade, you'll have to upgrade to a double adjustable.

On Summit's website the "R" is $10 less then the "F" so I'm a bit confused. You are right though, the "R" has a fixed firm compression and an adjustable rebound...

I don't think I would need the double adjustable cause I don't road race, only the occasional auto-x session.

I was looking at Speed Inc. and BMR for pricing, but yeah, Summit for some reason does have the pricing the other way around.

Strange SA fronts, 60.00 CE rears, 3400lbs, 10.5x28 ET drags and 1.25-1.27 60 foots all over the country year round.

I'm sure the QA-1 Rs would do the same, I just prefer to deal with the people at Strange.

Do the Strange units accept QA1 springs? I would prefer to save some $$$ and use the stockers but if I have to get them...

Also, will a heavier rated spring hurt 60's? I would rather run the 315# spring but do not want to sacrifice 60'.

<---- 1.35 with the QA1 R's, 5.9 in the 1/8th. But if I was buying from scratch I'd also consider the Strange shocks, but the Afcos are too much for me.

Will either of these setups live on the street? I'll put about 8k miles a year on my car with a couple long trips in there. Would it be worth getting either of these setups or would I be replacing them every year?

Currently running Koni double adjustables (on the car when I got it). Is it even worth taking these out or can they be made to work at the track?

Recently tried out my QA1 Rs and WOW! The 60' only droped about .05 but the car pulled the front wheels on an otherwise stock suspension. I was also able to spray in 1st gear without the car getting sideways. Tried 2 in the front and 6LR,7RR and it spun, then bumped it up to 4 like Madman suggested and pulled the wheels on the next pass.

The guys that have the Strange shocks, what springs are you using? Are you using the Strange springs up front? Part #SPC300? If so how do you like them? How do they compare to QA1 springs?

The Strange springs part # SPC300 are like the QA1's and fit in the stock upper mount and tapper down to a 2.5 " coilover size spring to fit on the Strange strut. They are a 300# spring.

For what its worht. I just ordered a set of:

QA1
GEN-F Front Coil-Over Shock
1993-02 Camaro/Firebird
Single Adjustable
Part Number # 122-OED7855P
with 300lb springs

and

QA1
GEN-F Rear Shock
Single Adjustable w/Bolt
1982-02 Camaro/Firebird
12 Position Valving Adjuster
Part Number # 122-TC2502P

All in all it was $842 for everything. I will run the factory springs in back and see what happens.
