the same as on the street, just hold the brake to stop from rolling out if you need to

Make sure to get in the water so you dont add so much stress on the rear. Do a quick burn out in the water to get it all around the tires, then stop rev it up to like 3500 and dump it and apply a lil bit of brake pressure ( just enough to keep you from moving). Sit there burning out for like 5 seconds then just roll out while doing the burn out almost up to the line. after that your good to go.

You don't need a linelock to do a burnout. Lite pressure on the brake pedal will lock the fronts and allow the rears to spin. Just pop the clutch and then move over to the brakes. I second second gear.

i would say a linlock helps immensely...and it also depends on what tires you are on. street tires, drag radials or slicks...

i have a LL, run on street tires with stock gears...

my burnout:

roll thru waterbox (all the way past), put it in second gear, set LL, punch throttle while letting out on clutch (all this happens at the same time), rev to approx 5500 rpms and hold for about 15 seconds, turn off line lock and roll out...it works for me. you will have to experiment with your burnout time ad your tire pressure.

on a DECENT track (not great) at a 3k launch i had enough traction to daed hook and break a driveshaft...at 3200 rpms i ran a personal best spinning a bit outta the hole...

you can do it without a linelock, but if you run on the track a good bit, a linelock will help you get more consistant. the tires im on are an off brand, and EVERY time ive recommended them ive been chastised for it on this board, but with a good burnout they get sticky, not greasy and slick like every other street tire ive done a burnout with...and i run them at rediculously low tire pressures (for a street tire) ON THE TRACK...

just my experience...hope it helps a little. for the low cost of a LL (you can find them cheap used), it will help ALOT...
