Chris alston's chassisworks also makes a nice cage that goes around the dash for LT1/LS1 cages.... prebent, notched, and fits very well.... here's a pic of mine.... I think all the bars ran me like 400 bucks.....
speaking of the coating on the bars I had heard that before about nothing other than paint... well check this out: yesterday i went to look at a car whom my engine builder is building a motor for.... this guy had done his WHOLE cage in yellow bed liner coating (yes that gritty looking spray on crap to keep from killing your truck bed)..... i'm not lying... craziest thing i ever seen....

.
Several reasons.
Screws up sonic tester, guys were building up thin spots, morons piecing tubes together and grinding smooth, hiding other weak spots.

95 check your PM's...
My cage is a full cage good down to 8.50.... a rollbar will be good down to 10.0 which is generally like a 6 point...
mine is a 12 point... with the optional rocker bars at the bottom...

I did a jegster 8pt myself, obviously for 150 bucks dont expect it to fit like a glove. the main hoop in my kit was actualy for a monte carlo, i had to trim it down. from there every bar is "intentionly" made too long to cut to your needs. the hardest part for me was cutting the notches back in when i trimed my peices and getting the angles cut to fit the body or floor right.. if you mess that up your running a good chance your bar will be too short after correcting you angle cuts it. All around if your fairly good with your hands i say its worth the time and effort. it was my first cage i was happy in the end. Deff dont rush it!!! it took alot of time to do all the measuring to assure i still had a perfectly original full leather working interior with carpet!! if you do a jegster youll need a pile of cutting and grinding wheels!!!
be careful though if you need it in 2 weeks. i ordered one and it took several weeks,
