It's an A4 car and I was thinking of leaving in 2nd to see what that would do? I have alot of torque and am pretty sure it will pull about a 1.8 or 1.9 60 since I usually pull 1.5's. I have to slow down 4-5 tenths. If that doesn't work, I'm just going to play with the skinny pedal and see what happens.

I tried that as well, it was different for sure. Seems that you really have to leave early on the light, almost the 2nd bulb if memory serves me. I say play with the gas. and have fun.

I would not do anything that has to do with playing with the skinny pedal. Because that is not consistant...and that is what you need. Like you said before....you need to slow down your ET's without lifting off full throttle. Do the tuning, weight and what not to get you there. You need to be able to cut a great light....and run full throttle so that you take the so called "human element" out of it. If you are doing the same thing evertime.....then just change the car, not what you are doing.

I would not play the old.....if I just lift off the throttle this much, or......if I only give it this much throttle...........

People hate me in the other lane. I dial nuts tight and run it for the money.

One night I made six runs and had thre 10.32s. lifted on other runs as I was ahead Came back the next day and ran two more 10.32s and made it to the semi's where I red lit

Well and a 15 foot purge at the line shakes up the Noobs

How about a delay box. I know that's what the bracket guys run. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to wire in (could be %1000000 wrong). Then you wouldn't have to do anything drastic like add a ton of weight or mess with power.

But index races can't have delay boxes or throttle stops. A bunch of the .90 indexs run throttle stops. You will see them hit hard off the line then they seem to let off the throttle then back on. There is your delay. The most that I can slow down my car through tunning/short shifting with out hurting it was maybe .3 at its best but is suffered at the starting line. If you try to let off early in the run that has the biggest influence in your ET. It also freaks out the other person in the other lane.

I would say leaving in 2nd seems like the easiest route. The best way to kill ET is up front. Only problem I see is it you're running on a pro-tree, the smaller hit will kill your lights.

Or you could make it faster and just lift at the 1/8 mile . My car runs consistant 10.50's lifting at the 1/8 mile.

I would think leaving in 2nd gear would death to the tranny and your lights would definitely suffer.

If you are running a .400 pro-tree you can run a shorter front tire. It will drop your ET and get you tight on the tree. Very similiar to deep staging.

Are you trying to slow down for an index race? Is it a .400 pro tree or .500 sportsman?

If it's a .400 pro tree, you can run a shorter front tire say a 24" vs a 26" and it will knock a tenth off your ET and you'll cut a much better light. If it's a sportsman tree, you go red with a much shorter tire.

Keep us up dated though.
