LS1 Front Wheel Drive Conversion
#22
when your car launches, the wieght transfers to the rear anyway. so if you have a fwd with all the weight on the front when you launch the still wants to transfer to the rear. thats why fwd drag cars have those look-alike wheelie bars to keep the weight on the front. it works but still not as well as a rwd. example: watch import drags. they have both fwd and rwd classes. they also have unlimited budgets and extensive r&d. the rwd cars will always be faster.

I do not bash anyone on this forum, but you have got to be either joking, or a retard.
"Bricks in the back"???? the weight moves to the back as the car launches. That’s why when you have power and hook it the front end comes up. Its called a wheelie. so let me ask you what happened to all the weight on the front tires has to go some where. But this thread is funny. And I will keep reading. Please post something stupid about me now. haha

"bricks in the back" was just a little example...not really truthful. I wouldn't put bricks in the back of your car...but some weight can be useful at times depending on how hard your car launches.
Matt D...makes plenty of sense as to why you got rid of them. If I were in your position I would have done the same. But to me...I would really like to test the benefits of leaving the swaybars ON. I feel that they have more worth than just "carving corners". I mean I know a drag car will never make turns and steering is minimal but still...I feel that some swaybars have a meaning to the structural integrity of the chassis of the car. I think that it plays a big difference in weight transfer and movement of kinetic energy.

A RWD CAN hook without bricks in the back.
As far as going fast the RWD can hook more than it needs to depending on how its set up. So the weight on the front would not matter. The entire car is on the rear wheels when it launches with RWD.
A far less amont of the weight is on the drive tires of a front wheel drive. How could you get the entire wieght of the car on the front tires on a launch?
If you want a lighter car there are far better choices than a Fbody that are already FWD.
What are you going to race it in?
If you really want to do it go ahead and build it and let us know what happens. but IMO you would be better off just building up a RWD but if you just want to be different go ahead. I have seen an amphibious Camaro and it drives across the water better than mine j/k

You have admitted you know nothing about drag racing and dont have much experience... and by looking at your wagon with "stuff" (is that referring to the dirt and grime on the engine?) You dont have any experiece driving a high powered rwd platform. But yet you constantly tell people on here who do have experience that they are stupid...
Are you just angry at rwd because your pimpin wagon doesn't get the chicks?
Drag racing has going on since the automobile was invented. Don't you think somewhere along that period if what you are saying was true they would have switched to fwd?

BTW...who are you to criticize WHAT I KNOW about drag racing/cars/engines/chassis ETC....? Do you know me? Nope you don't. What do you have to share other than a shitty post? Do you think your cool because you can criticize others who are less fortunate as you? Did your daddy pay for your brand new car? probably...let me tell you something...MINE DIDN'T. I paid every last cent on mine including the dirty grimy engine with modifications (yea I said it, I modded a WAGON) There's more to a car than just chrome and mine has more GO than SHOW...of course because it's a F*CKING WAGON!!! Do you think that WAGONS are great looking cars? NOT REALLY! Of course I like the look of it...but thats me.
Am I angry? No not at all. My wagon is RWD...and powerful enough for myself. Do I get women because of it? Hell ya...the girls love it. And these aren't trailerpark trash like you're picking up...no bimbos ride in my "wagon".
Did I ever insult ANYONE with ANY PRIOR knowledge and call them stupid? Nope...those that I DID insult deserved it and they hadnt contributed anything in the first place. people like Matt D who actually KNOW something have said stuff thats worthwhile reading...those idiots that posted to flame me are the ones I called stupid. No go ahead...bring what you know to the table. I'm dying to hear what you have to say....

And I am FAR from alone in this opinion.
I'm sure people think I'm crazy...it's all good. Go back and read it.

BTW...Question for you...why are some cars produced (including a few fast ones or ones that can be made faster) FWD? Oh wait...those manufacturers and engineers are dumba$$es right? Why would they ever do that? I'm not saying they will run a friggin 9 but c'mon...you can make a FAST FWD car believe it or not.
Oh and BTW again...I've been reading here for awhile too and it seems that many members don't always believe you either. You get picked on alot in other threads and most call what you say BS. Just stating the facts. I think you're picking on me to feel better about yourself.
And I know ALOT about drag racing and the laws of physics....

The people that call "BS" are the ones that don't know what they are talking about... the ones that do come in and back me up. And FWD is used because it is cheaper, more compact, and allows for more passenger-compartment space. There are some performance-oriented cars that just happen to be FWD, but that is in-spite-of being FWD... not because of it. And I repeat... if you knew anything about dragracing or physics (ie; weight transfer), you never would have even brought it up.

Wow, this quite possibly has to be one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen. This could quite possibly hit the SSU hall of fame. Let's keep this retarted **** going, it's amazingly humorous how clueless wagon boy is. TTT!
