ET Streets Vs. Drag Radials One of my cars is hovering at 13.1 in an auto and I know it can make 12`s easy because I spin everytime and I have the reaction time of the Slowskies. My question is which tire do I go with without having to worry about destroying the stock 10 bolt. This is a daily driver and will see track time only maybe 3-4 times a year tops. I have had people say the ET`s will snap it in an auto in no time but drag radials will be much easier on it. So before I buy either or what are your suggestions.
Well....reaction time does not effect your e.t. so don't worry about that (in terms of time). At your power levels, I don't see your 10 bolt going. An auto is a lot nicer to a 10 bolt than stick cars are. I would say a M/T drag radial will be fine. Get a 275/17 and let that bitch rip.

Well the run I mad was actually just to get a baseline in the next week or two I am getting a h/c installed with a bunch of other crap the guess on it is between 405-430 rwhp thats really my concern I should have added that because when this is done lord knows street tires will be nothing and my tranny & t/c are both still stock
ok well you ten bolt can go boo no mater what but. the et street's will be softer onthe drivetrain becasue the wrinkle wall will give, thats why M6 cars love them it absorbs some of the shock, and they will stick, but will feel like crap thre faster you go, but you get used to it. the radial will hook good, feel fine but will hook just as hard and with out the sidewall absobing anything., so if your rear is your big worry

There are plenty of guys running the drag radials and making great power that are cutting sub 1.5's.
On the other subject...plenty of those guys are running a stock rear. An auto is typically harder on the tranny than it is on the rear. Your tranny definitely needs work/replacing and so does your T/C....and take a look at a rearend in the future.
