Default Good 60ft techniques?

For some reason I can't cut a sub 2 second 60? I just bought me some et streets and i cant get it under 2 seconds. I was able to hook up only once with the things at 22lbs. I cut a 2.009 60. Im supposed to be cutting like 1.6s or 1.7s.

I did a good burnout when i cut the 2.009 and the tires stuck stalling the car to like 1700 and then I flooring it. Still i think my car is supposed to be in the 12s but its not because of bad driving maybe? What do you guys think? They're some guys cutting better sixties with hardly any suspension work. How do you cut those low 60ft. times?

What stall are you using? I was cutting 1.9s on stock stall stock engine.

I see you have a short TA. I think you may need to adjust it some to get a better hook and move

+ 1 on what size stall/str you have

also, do you have a line lock? you'll get much more even and consistent burnouts using one as opposed to a brake torque

i have a 3000 stall and my pinion angle is set to -1. im not sure of the str. my stall was built by select performance who also built my tranny. they are a reputable shop here in NY who build trannies and converters for ihra guys and regular racers as well.

the only reason i have not break stalled the car higher is because i dont want to roll through the lights. its not so easy watching the tree and looking to where your rpms are at the same time. the tires start to break loose at 2500.

Try flashing the converter and bumping your pinion angle to -2, and tire pressure to 20lbs..

Who did the tune/pcm?

It sounds converter related. As stated try flashing the converter off idle. If the tire are spinning, then air them down some until they stop spinning. I'm having a similar problem. My converter is not performing correctly, mine dead hooks and just takes forever to get past 60ft, best of 1.94. Converter is coming out to be re-stalled or repaired if the sprag rolled or something.

i dropped the pressure all the way down to 18. still my best run was the first one which was at 22lbs and stalling it to like 1700 or 1800. I would like to actually try to stall it all the way to 2500 and then launch but i havent been able to. i will try flash stalling to see what happens. im going to have to go back to the track next week. i sitll dont understand why tires broke loose on my last run afetr a good burnout. these mickeys are supposed to stick.

a 300 stall should be very easy to brake stall up to about 1600-1800 on the 3rd yellow stab the gas, it should go up to at leas 2800-3200 before the car really moves.
i think your stall isnt a 3000...in my freind z bone stock with a 3200 stall and 3.23 he cuts 1.8 on street tires...

i can stall it easily to 1700-1800. tires wont break loose until about 2500 when the break is all the way down. i was break stalling it with no problem at the track and then flooring it. but for some reason i couldnt cut a good 60. i have seen my rpms before and ill stall it to about 1700/1800 at the track and then it will jump to around 3100.

i dont know why my mickeys would break loose when doing this even after a good burnout. but like i said my first run was the best i pulled a 2.009 sixty and thats with the tires actually sticking on the launch. im really comfused as to why my 60s are so low. people are cutting lower 60 with a lot less.
