Default 15" Prostar & Draglite people inside please.

I posted this here because over in the wheel section most of the people a mainly interested in the "bling" wheels and only hard core guys are willing to grind the snot out of their calipers like I just spent my weekend doing. Anyway i wanted to know where you guys are having the adhedsive weights stuck on your front runners and if there's even enough room, just want to know what works best. TIA

My pro star skinnies are balanced. Weights on the inside, I think they just used the normal crimp style weights.

OK that's what I wanted to know, I didnt remember when I had them on the car if there was enough room between the rim and the caliper to run the adheadsive type weights. Thanks.

Mine are balanced, crimp on weights inside and out... I got the sportsman front tires and they took alot more to balance than a radial IMO.

I tried stick on weights, but the calipers on my LT1 car took them right off.

Man I need to find me a deal on rims/tires. But anyways, I was just going to say, feel around and find a place to put them, and then pound on the weights with a hammer (The sticky ones) as long as they still stick, they are the same weight pounded as regular. But thats if you wanted to do stickies, I would just use hammer on on the back side of the rim. Good luck.

When I ran prostars, I had the weights on the inside of the front runners. They were the stick on kind. Even though they came off, I couldn't tell a difference with them off or on!!!

you can run crimp ons on the inside and tape-ons at about the center of the wheel. Anything farther out will hit the caliper

lol. i am grinding my calipers tommorrow. i too have a 2002 ws6. i am planning on running my prostar xp's as street rims. my tires will be here tommorrow, and we'll do the grinding at the same time. im gonna take pics of before, during, and after. and then post pics of the whole thing.

i was told that sticky weights will work fine. and personally i think crimp on weights will work too. personally i would go with sticky weights!

yur car looks great with those wheels. i cant wait to see what mine will look like.

You can do that, but it is really not necessary for a 3-4 inch rim. That would be the best way to balance our stock 17's, cause you think about it they weigh likw over 40lbs w/ rim & tire. A drag front will weigh no more than 20. So it can suffice EASILY with static balancing (One weight only in any position on the rim). You see the people here that dont even run weights and are fine. The amount of weight these skinny rims could be off by is negligable, and thats why people cant tell. I used to work at a tire shop. And had to balance skinnies all the time. But long story short... I would go with 1 weight hammered on the inner rim flange.
