like i said no offense if you can get that kinda money then more power to you i'm glad i don't live around you all if thats what it costs. and trust me i know what it takes to have it done in a stock floorpan car. i have 2 and trust me you would drop your jaw at the cage work. and i'll dig up some pics of some of the other radial cars he's built. so i don't want to start an argument or pissing match so let me rephrase my response. "around here" from a reputable shop a 25-5 is 3500-4000 and 25-2 is 6000-6500

While everybody is talking about prices, let's make sure were comparing apples to apples. We all know theres different quality of work, and that takes labor to do. Don't expect something for nothing. The people who complain about prices the most are the ones who have no clue about the time/material it takes to build these cars. I suppose jones/haas/ness/bickel need to start selling rollers for $50k?

I just put a pro stock style wing on the back of a 61 falcon along with a bunch of other updates and it ended up costing the guy $1100 for the wing alone before any paint or chrome work. I could of just used a $300 pos ed quay wing but people want quailty and just like most things in life, higher quality cost more money.

I will also agree that if I was to pay somone to make my car a 25.X car it would be MADMAN or W2W. Nobody else.

I just paid $1,400 to get my WOLFE 10 point put in. Dash and front seats pulled along with the carpet, painted cage, harnesses put in, HVAC box pulled and nice plate put in thats painted. Like MADMAN said most of the labor is making things fit. They spent a day just on my dash. Keep in mind they are doing my car on the side in their garage after work.

I am picking it up in the next few days and they have had it roughly 2.5 weeks. Both are welders by trade and do great work. They wanted to charge me $1,600 but when I told them my dad needed some welding along with me needing some exhaust welding soon they droped the price.

A 25.5 for $3500 is plain REDICULOUS! I would never want to pay less then $8k for a 25.5. If a shop told me that much for a 25.5 when my 10 point cost $1,400 I would be WORRIED and wonder if monkeys were doing the fab work!

I plan on going 25.X down the road but plan on doing all the work. I am a class away from being an aircraft mechanic. Just took a job as an aircraft sheetmetal fabricator/tech and will be tacking some advanced chassis fab classes and TIG classes.

You PAY for quality and pay for what you get.

If you are getting paid say 4k for work you think you should be getting 8k for the quality work you do will not be as good. Its just life and the way it is.

than car is illegal for that cert, thats why there,s so much contravercy,in radial classes, the class min, wieght is more than the wieght of some of the cars going faster than their cert,i think wolfe went 7.4 something and had to slow down as thier car had a 25-5 cert than when they went to upgrade to a 25-2 thier car would have been to heavy for cert,,so nhra has to step up and get in line with the other race venues or the other guys have to change some wieght rules,

I am actually fighting that now Bob. The new drag radial car I just finished is a 25.2. The rules for his engine combo are saying he has to weigh 3300lbs. Wolfes new combo would have to weigh 3600lbs. NHRA has pretty much stated we should stick to 1/8th mile racing.
