I had a pinto rack on my Formula with 275/45/17's for street mode. Better road feel. It depends on what you feel is streetable. I wouldnt of auto x it with the pinto rack. If I had to do it over again I would of bought a pinto rack from auto zone and saved a couple hundred.

The car is a weekend/track car theres no a/c and has a little bit of wheight reduction. Streetable to me is handeling good on the street and being LOUD AS HELL. But more importantly handeling good.

My car still steers fine with the manual rack. I'm running madman's set up since its just bolt in and ready to run and you don't have to piece together anything.

I laugh to myself everytime this subject comes up. My Great Aunt drove her early seventies Impala everyday with manual brakes and steering, until they pulled her license. She was 88 at the time.

If it's too hard to turn, just gas it. You aren't going fast enough!

I don't understand the problem with this either. My pick up truck that I pressure wash with and drive to work doesn't have ps and I don't have a problem either.

There is nothing wrong with manual steering, I had dozens of factory manual steering cars over the years. OTOH aftermarket racks (and the way they are mounted) are not made for 3500+ lb cars that are daily driven IMO.
