Default Finally...... W2W 404 is together!!!

Well the time has come that the motor is finally finished. The motor should of been put done 2 weeks ago, but we ran into a problem with the piston dome hitting the cylinder head and the spark plug. We had to machine a slot into the piston, and send them back to Detroit to get the tops re coated (Ceramic temperature coating). The pistons were dropped off friday morning, and the shortblock was together that night.

Then we finished up the rest of the motor yesterday night. Needless to say, the first time building a motor of this caliber from scratch is a huge project. Lots of little things and time consuming things to check and do. We got it done with no issues and it all worked out great.

Here are the specs on the engine:

- W2W prepped 6.0L iron block with
-Bronze lifter bore bushings
-4.005 bore
-Custom 1/2" head studs
-O-ringed the heads, reciever groove the block
-Block was decked, hone, with ARP main studs and such
-Straight copper head gaskets
- Callies "Magnum" series 4.0" stroke crankshaft
- Howards Billet 6.125 connecting rods
- JE Custom Nitrous domed piston
-14.5:1 compression
-Gas ports, special pins, locks, rings etc. Best nitrous piston they make
-Dart Teflon coated skirts, ceramic coated tops
- All bearings are Clevite teflon coated bearings (mains, rods, cam)
- Modern Cylinder head CNC LS6 heads
-2.10 Titanium intake valves/1.62 Iconel exhaust valves
-Fow 350 ish cfm on the intake and 247 cfm on the exhaust
-PSI solid roller springs, titanium retainers etc etc
-Jesel J2K shaft rockers, 1.8/1.7 ratio
-Morel Solid roller lifters
- Custom Comp Cam 275/288 dur. at .050, .777/.714 lift, on a 108 LSA
- Victor JR. ported single plane intake
-Wilson 1400 cfm throttlebody
-Motron 60lb/hr injectors
-Aeromotive fuel rails with custom mounts
- All engine covers have been powder coated bright silver with a clear powder final coat

Here are a few pics, along with the transmission and gauges...

Here are a few more pictures. The converter is a 5800-6000 stall Coan 8" with all options available for this model. The flexplate is a Reactor billet aluminum setup that is SFI certified.

Trans is a Coan MAX performance TH350
-Aluminum direct drive drum
-Pro brake
-Alloy imput shaft
-Stefs pan
-More billet parts on the inside but I dont have my spec sheet handy.

Just curious how you decided on a 5800 stall? Just seems high for a nitrous motor. (I assume it's because you'll probably shift around 8K rpm though?)

Actually the converter thats going in the car right now is set up for all motor. I want to get used to the car, get the suspension all dialed in, and get the car to hopefully run in the 9.50's to 9.60's on motor. Towards the fall I will order another converter and have it setup for spray, ALOT of spray.

As for debt, that motor was paid for with CASH. I learned my lesson on my other car about not using a credit card to build a race car. From memory, I woud say that over 90% of this car has been built with cash and less than 10% credit cards. But it is time for this car to be finished as I am getting very very tired of spending everything on it OH well, it should be fast

Very nice set up all around, it ought to make some really good power N/A and on the bottle it's going to be nasty. It's alot like my set up except mines a hydraulic 408, not quite as radical.

Very nice set up. Great work.
Big *** cam and 14:1, mid 9's on motor should be no problem.

That makes more sense. Good luck with the car, sounds/looks like you have built a dream motor. It should run great when sorted out.

Those were custom made. Those came with the intake when it came with my other engine I bought. I like how they look, plus they are very sturdy and wont come loose like the Edelbrock brackets.
