Default Traction bars

Hey

I know its not an LS1 powered vehicle, but would traction bars on a stock 1997 S10 4.3L Vortec actually help? I not looking to race the truck just have it look a little meaner and maybe put some bigger tires out back . I don't think there is any wheel hop which the bars help eliminate just lack of weight.I can get a set of universal Lakewood bars for 60 bucks Canadian. So will they improve traction off the line? It wont help in rain will it?

.

Used for many years, all we had back then. They worked fine for the power we had.
The new longer style work much better and handle more power.
I doubt they have anything to do with rain traction. They are made for drag racing with slicks, so the spring doesn't wrap, which causes the hop and loss of traction.

Without the power to wrap up ur springs, they will just be a $60 decoration,
but if that's what u like, it won't hurt anything.

I actually still have mine on the shelf, just saw today.
