Looking at a new car
83 Z/28 23,XXX ORIGINAL MILES FULLY LOADED DOWN TO THE REAR WHIPER. Red with gray interior, cowl hood.
468 BBC, out of the box GMPP bow tie heads, out of the box intake (don't think its anyhing special), Barry Grant worked 850 carb tat flows over 1,000 CFM (his initals are eched into the carb).
NOS 2 stage plate system. Car has seen a 300 shot.
TH-400 with a COAN 3600 stall
Smith Brothers 12 bolt with 4.XX gears.
For suspension it has a non ADJ torque arm and an adjustable panhard rod thats it. Stock shocks and LCA's, SFC's, 8 inch wide MT ET streets. No sway bars.
Car went 11.0-11.1's all motor spining.
On a 300 shot it just spun like crazy. Jetted it down some and still spun.
Ran a 10.30@136 spining hard (note the 9 second MPH) That was on like a low 200 shot or so. Pretty sure it does not have a trans brake either.
This is what I have planned IF I get it.
Electric water pump and fan, WOLFE rear sway bar, he has some SPOHN adj LCA's, brackets, and QA1's that I will put it, adjustable torque arm, TA cover on the rear end, 10 inch wide tire, K&N filter for the top of the air filter. Have a guy he know thats ports pro stock heads port the heads and have him port a Vic intake since I think its just a regular edelbrock (keep in mind the car was built in the 80's), different cam to mach the heads and intake, Neil Chance stall, full spool.
With the suspension it has now ready to go in and a wider tire I KNOW it will run 9's.
With a better HCI/stall I think it would run 8's on a 300 shot easy!

I am like one of two people I think it would ever get sold to or would be kept.
If I get to get it I have allready agreed that if I ever sold it it would go back to either the builder or my buddy.
Its the nicest built early third gen you will ever see I think....
