Default The clear answer on fitting 10.5W

Alright, I am confused. I have seen multiple posts where folks are narrowing 3” per side and going with 5.25” back spacing and I have also see posts narrowing 5.5” per side and going with a deeper dish.

Who is actually running 10.5Ws and how’d you make them fit????

I know minitubs, trimming, lca relocation, and coilovers or smaller springs are required, but need a clear answer on the BS and narrowing from folks actually running the 10.5W.

Just started my mini tub and there is a swap meet in the morning. Looking to find a set of wheels to go with a new moser 40 spline rear.

Thanks in advance!

Strange 60 narrowed 2.5 each side. 15 x 10's with 5" backspacing. With this combo, I had to beat the living hell out of the front inside wheel tub. Also had to cut off all the bumpstop and all metal surrounding it. I'm still running the stock springs out back. I put offset LCA's on it but honestly didn't need to. Also had to trim the rear bumper cover. Good luck it is easier than most make it out to be. This size tire looks F'n badass under our cars too..

Few things that are hopefully a given are adjustable LCA's and panhard.

I went 3" narrowed with a 4.5" B.S. 15x10 to get my 325/50/15's to fit. It wasn't that much trouble. But then again I'd already put a BBC in my 4th gen so them tires were easy to me.

Every time I've asked about doing that with the Bogart rims people say they will go on with just a little banging so I"m interested in this one too. I think they are teh 7 or 7.5" BS though.

Its the same on my car. I had clearanced the wheel well for a 28 x 10.5W but then went back to the 325 radial tire. I dont have mini tubs in the car and both tires worked out fine.

EDIT: If it matters...My car is also lowered some. The tires are tucked in just a little. I'm running 3" off each side with a 5" BS. No spacers. Swaped to LT1 rear brakes b/c I didn't feel like grinding the calpiers. Offset LCA's.

I think every car is a little different so there is no exact answer. I was told Bogarts don't require grinding......................well, that didn't happen.

I put Ws on lots of 4th gens and my experience with it is that you have to cut the bumpstop mounting bracket off because it pertrudes to far out and beat the inner fenders in alot. This is with stock rearend size and 7.5in BS wheels.

Hey, I have fit a 28x11.5 ETDrag. Will I be able to fit a 10.5W. Pounded the hell out of the inner fender allready and have cut out fender instead of rolling them. I have been considering mini-tubing and also need some new tires. Just want some opinions before I buy either the mini tub kit or new tires. Thanks!

Firebirds are different from Camaros, and it also depends on the wheel.

Bogarts + 28W + stock length 9"

9" narrowed 1.5" each side, run a 6.5 b/s prostar with a 10.5w. had to beat inner fender pretty good but the tires tuck nice.

Stock length Moser 9", 7.5" BS Welds, 325/50s. **** load of hammering, cut out the bump stop and re-undercoated everything. Adjustable LCAs are a must!

I'm running M/t new DR - 315-60-15 (which is about 1" wider than the W), with Bogart 15x10 w/6.5" B/S (need 6" as I'm presently running a 7/16" spacer). 9", 3" narrowed ea side, mini-tubbed. Fits pretty good

It's from the camera angle, trust me. After seeing the pics I measured everything from every possible angle. Even had the local tire shop check the alignment. She takes launches straight as an arrow.

When I ran them I just banged in the front inner fender and used a 6.5 bs on a stock lengh rear. The front and rear outer lips have to be clearanced though.

That's what I did. I actually cut the sheetmetal out rather than beat it to death since I had to put the adj. perches in too.
