Default Spring/shock concensus for street/strip car?

Just looking for a solid idea on the more popular suspension setups for your typical DD with a good amount of track use as well. I'm pretty much set on a set of QA1's all around but still a little shaky on which spring compliments it best. Idealy I'd like to keep the car at near stock ride height or lower it minimally, yet have the ideal weight transfer for a good launch. Idea's?

put a tire under the car with a rear and see what she likes. without the first two, shocks/springs wont make any difference. what have you run so far? i am still on stock front shocks and cheap Comp Engineering rears. i lowered my car.

With your setup, stock springs and replacement shocks/struts should be fine. At least until (as Gator said) you get a better rear and some sticky tires.

Can't do better than a 2.0 60' albeit this is on POS Falken's. I have a set of BFG DR's at the house now and I do plan on hitting the track with them within 2 weeks, though I'll still need to figure out which direction to go if I plan on getting more out of the car from a dig.

I just bought my front QA1 R with the 300 rate springs and for the rear I will just keep the original shocks and go with the BMR spring or Hotchkis lowering spring to keep the ride height at about 1.5 inchs lowered. For tires I am going with the MT drag radial 275 40 17 on my original ws6 wheels. Its a weekend cruiser that will see the track.

01 WS6,3400 stall,228/236,588/578 114 comp cam, worked over factory heads with manley race valves and all that goes with it,12 bolt 3.73,BMR susp,Mac headers,ORY,Magnaflow. Track times coming soon.

I daily drive my car and run the QA1 "R"s with 274lb springs up front and Comp Engineering rear drag shocks set at 50/50. They work great at the track and ride good on the street. No complaints on driveability.

Put a MT street ET or Drag ET on the car and see what it does.Your better off going with a adj. Torque arm, solid lower adjustable control arms and the olwer control arm relocation brackets. I have stock shocks and springs and I have pulled many 1.47 60ft. bogging out of the hole with room for improvement. Shocks are not the key, it's more of everything else that makes the biggest improvements. When my suspension was bone stock with a 26" MT ET drag I could pull 1.60-1.64 60ft with just having the front sway bar removed. Ditch the DR and get a set of ET drags or ET streets
