Hey guys. The spindles (steering knuckles) are probably the most vital parts of your car. They are strong and heavy for good reason. Please don't drill holes in them.

They really arent THAT heavy, if you do race brakes you can cut quite a bit away. Whitey fron W2W had some he was selling a while back that had holes in them cut somehow. I would only do that on a dedicated track car, AJE sells fabricated drop spindles, dont knoe how much lighter then the stockers they are. They also sell a front strut conversion which would be the lightest I would imagine but it aint cheap..

lol, the gun drilling doesn't leave holes on the outside man....think about it for a second ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
I realize the stock ones are heavy for good reason, I just wondered if anyone made one lighter....Seems like it could be a good addition in a dedicated (or mostly dedicated) track car that already has all the other front end odds and ends...

Down and dirty: gun drilled - they take out a part of the center of the axel; than its hardened. Lighter and supposedly stronger. We'll see this summer.
