Default QA1's; but no weight transfer!

I've been trying to get my suspension to click while the weather allows but seem to be having no luck. Car has a stall, cam, gears, full bolt-ons, and suspension. I got M/T 255/50/16 radials at first because I've read only good things about them, they are killer tires, I know because my buddy had them on his Formula and now his WS6 and they work great for him; but he has'nt done as much to his car yet. I bought Prostars and ET drags with ET fronts but I see alot of people hooking really well with the radials so I would like to get them to work good for the street. I have QA1's in the front with 275 lb. springs, CE 3 ways in the back set at 50/50, adj. TA, lca, adj. PB, and airbags in a set of 93-97 V6 of rear springs. I take out from a SMALL stall and end up spinning until it changes to 2. Then it spins a little in second and it's off. It seems like I have almost zero weight transfer. The only thing I've not done is remove the front swaybar, and I will do that, but is that actually needed for weight transfer with the QA1's? I have a nitrous plate on it but don't spray it because of this and I have a nice set of heads sitting here looking good but if I cant' get this fixed then I guess there's no use in those. Sorry for the long post, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

1. remove the front swaybar. Should have done that first!
2. traction on the street depends on the type/condition/cleanliness of pavement too.

Thanks for the input! I know that the swaybar removal has been discussed numerous times on here, I was just wondering if that is where most of my problems stem. Thanks again and I would appreciate all other input also!
P.S.
Sorry for the bad grammar in the first post

Removing the front sway bar will help out a lot. Also what do you have your QA1s set at? I know they are adjustable, but i am not sure how many different settings they have. Also what about your pinion angle, has that been set?

Pinion angle is set at -3, and they are the 12 way adjustable QA1's, they're currently set at zero to try and get some transfer. After the swaybar comes off I think maybe three if it starts to shift weight. Thanks!

if you want something to deadhook on the street you either need to put some weight balast in your bumper or prep the street where ever you are trying to launch....

You are making progress. You have learned that getting you car to launch well is not simply a matter of copying what seems to work for everyone else. Small differences can have large effects. I think you need to abandon your shotgun approach and start experimenting – preferably at a dragstrip where you can see your sixty foot times. The length of your rubber stripes on the street is a poor measurement. Change one thing at a time and make a few runs so you learn whether the change helped or hurt. Start with tire pressure.

Thanks for all the suggestions! No sooner did I start this thread, the weather went south. I've not had a chance this weekend to experiment. Maybe this week if weather permits. Thanks again!

Yea, I'm here with ya. Can't get my car to hook for crap w/o perfect track prep. It makes you mad because of alot of faster, smaller tired cars running better. I've noticed my car likes the front Qa1's at 3, 4-5 on the rears. But again, still not hooking well. Just going to take alot of track time and adjusting. Good luck.

Check your pinion angle, sometimes having too much can make you hit the tires too hard and you will spin.

Great! I'm really thankful for all the feedback. I'll check the pinion angle and try to find a sweet spot. Just yanked off the swaybar and was VERY impressed with the results! I have a spot measured @ 285' (bridge), crude but the track is a long way away and I work alot of weekends, with no change except for the swaybar I went from 58mph to a solid 68mph on the street! Still spinning through the first 60'; but the mph is encouraging. It should do alright when I get it all fine tuned. Thanks again for all the help!

Hey, may have found something else. What's your ride height on the front? Mine seemed to set pretty low in the front compared to stock after the QA1 install. I really liked the look, but it may have been my problem. I raised the front 1" yesterday, and it seemed to help alittle (the street is a poor way to test, but...). Before adjustment, front was 27 3/8" high, and I took it to around 28 3/8". Rear was/is 29" high. This give me roughly a 1* rake measured off of subframe connectors with tire pressure as it is at the race track. I measured from ground to bottom of wheel well inline with center of wheel fro ride height measurements. It's kinda crude I know. Never know, might help.

Great! Thanks, I'll measure this weekend sometime and see where I stand right now. I'm not for sure of the height now, what size skinnies you running? I've got 26" ET Fronts just wondering for height comparison. Thanks again!

I'm running 26-4.50-15 ET Fronts w/ 40 psi. and 28-11.50-15 ET Drags w/ 10 psi. My car's weight is 3060 lbs. and have an iron block. So, if your car is heavier, you'll probably be lower, but I think the main idea is to get rid of/lessen the harshness of the rake...I guess...lol. I haven't been able to see if this has helped any, and it looks like it's going to rain this weekend. But you never know.

What you guys have discovered is "center point" or four corner weight. If you have a shop with four corner scale, you may discover that your front is carrying too much of the weight. I'm set up with about 53-54% in front and 46-47% in back - I also have an iron block. Like said, pinion angle should be set at about -2. Any more may be unloading your tires.

Good luck

David
