Basic M6 Launch Facts Illustrated
We talked about launching a m6 fbody today, the one thing that these cars need is gear, this will allow you to leave softer and not have to slip the clutch much. A stock clutch when it gets to a certain temp gets very greasy. Either off the limiter with a decent upgrade or let it slip out.
As much as its about having a tire and suspension, the clutch has to slip.

Yea, but if you built it for a kit you can't run a lot of gear. So I say either pill it or gear it! 3.89's are perfect for a kit and 4.10+ are perfect for motor.

I ran it on 4.11's and trapped 128+
4.11's and a shot... first gear was fun!
jegster torque arm/lca's/eibach pro lowering springs, everything else stock
376 rwhp
12 bolt w/4.30 gears, 26x11,50x15 et streets
rev to 6200, dump clutch with the gas pedal on the floor.
1.53 60'. easy! lol
You will get it. I ran a cam only TR230/224 with a TNT 150 shot. On 26" ET streets. It ran 10.82 @ 126 and 10.87 @ 125 back to back on a all motor tune. First time ever spraying the 150 shot. LOL. I was very happy.
I think it might work, it will all depend on how much RPM he has to play with.
with 4.30's and a 28" tire
@6000 = 116 mph
@6200 = 120 mph
@6400 = 124 mph
@6600 = 128 mph
@6800 = 132 mph
@7000 = 136 mph
@7200 = 139 mph
With a stock rod bolts I think 6400 is safe, but might not be enough room with a shot and a cam.
Add ARP Rod Bolts and you are safe to 7000. 136 mph is MORE then enough room for a cam only + 150 shot. You will most likely be in the 128 - 130 range, judging by other, non all out race car, Cam+Bottle cars.

Yea I remember when I had 4:10's and had to shift to 5th but the kit cut off at 6000. I ended up going to 3:89's and couldn't hook it on a 26" tire. I bumped the limiter to 7000 and put a 6800 pill in it and turned in on up on the stock bottom end. I think I needed a 28" tire and it would have hooked a lot better. It could be that 640RWTQ+ is too much for a 26" tire.

Also green is throttle position correct? My Z is an A4, but im just wondering, why are you letting off the throttle between shifts? especially with a strong rear? wouldnt you just want to leave the throttle on the floor and be quick with the clutch? Not being a wise *** or anything, just curious of the reason...
Thanks
