Question Oil pan removal question

Guys, with a tubular k-member and a non-stock trans (T400 not bolted into the oil pan), can you remove the stock oil pan and pickup w/o jacking the motor? Looks close up front.

I'm thinking of swapping oil pans over to a Moroso or Stef's deep pan with a trapdoor, but I'm just seeing if I can do it w/o getting my engine hoist out and also having to pull the balancer and front cover. If I do, I do, but...

Thanks for the assistance. BTW, I did a search on "dropping oil pan" and "oil pan removal" and nothing much came up. Take care. Dave

Gotta jack the motor. Tried it not too long ago, didn't work w/o jacking it up.

We changed our oil pan on a lift and lowering down the tubular k-member.

By the way, do you know the part number to the Moroso or Stef's deep pan with a trapdoor. We may need to go to one of these pan's(see sig)!

Thanks...I was just being lazy. I've got a lift and engine cherry picker. If I do it, I'll just drop the steering rack and lower the k-member with the engine supported from above.

On the Stef's, you just call them and tell them what you want. Since you are running a tubular k-member, they can and recommend adding the sump deeper up to the point it would be up against the k-member. Their's and the Moroso (PN 21150 with special pickup and screen) are meant more for Super Stock with a modified stock k-member. They are nice, but don't have as deep of center section nor do they have kickouts that you could run if you wanted.

Either way, good luck. Take care. Dave

One more thing...they both have billet upper mount rails, but also do require a remote filter of your choice.
