Default Need drag radial recommmendation

Guys I am looking for a sticky drag radial. I am limited to a 17" wheel. Right now I run the BFG drag radial in a 295/35-18, but I need more traction. I am considering mounting one of the following on a set of 17x9.5 wheels:

Hoosier Drag Radial
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radial
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Which will provide more traction? This is for the track only, so wear or street driving is irrelevant. I also do not want to consider a bias-ply because I can't afford to buy skinny wheels and tires for the front.
Thanks

Haven't seen much on the Hoosier DR; but the M/T SDR have gotten numerous great reviews. I recently picked up a set of M/T for my car. We'll see eventually what they do.

the link didnt work for me, so im not sure which sizes you were looking at...

i currently have the 315/35/17 mickey thompson et street radials on mine, and i love them. but next time i think im gonna try the 295/45/17's cause i need the 28" tire, and i really dont need a 315 drag radial to hook. if youre looking for a wide (11") tire, that mickey 315's are for you.

Have used BFG, Nitto, and MT DR's.

The Mickies provide the most adhesion.

*have not used the Hoosier DR's, but have Quick Time Pros and they are great (but not a radial).

Sounds liek the Mickey Thompson are the way to go. BTW I was looking at a 275/40-17 to be mounted on a 17x9.5" wheel. I did not know they made a 295-45-17. If that would tuck under the car and fit the wheel that would actually be a better size for me. Becasue with my current gearing a 26" tire puts me at 130 mph in the 1320 and I am bumping the rev limiter. Who sells the 295?

mickey thompson has the 295/45/17. they just released them when they released the new 315/35/17 size.

link to tire size chart...

check the bottom chart on the page. thunder only lists the 315 size for the 17" wheel, but i called them and they said they could get the 295 for the 17's. with as many people as fit the 325/50/15's i dont think you'd have a problem getting them to fit. i have no personal experience with that
(295) size, but i could see maybe having to roll the fender, but probably not having to use the BFH...the 315's are pretty wide but i didnt have to do either on mine, but im at stock hieght out back with a 26" tire...

Neither! Get either the M&H 275/50-17 or 325/45-17. Both are 28" tall, and are relatively skinny.

Not saying the M/T's are not great, but it is hard to top a 28" tall DR!

Thanks for the advice guys, but I jsut got a killer deal on a CCW drag package. Wheels and tirese. MT ET Streets in a 26x10.50X16 and skinnies in front. I think my traction problems are over.

I like my Hoosier. First time at the track I cut a 1.5 with 28psi, and the track I run at is not the best at prep work. Plus the look better then the MT's.
