Which platform would be best for an LSx-powered strip/street car?
Been throwing around the idea of building an LSx powered strip/street car. Mostly for making passes at the track, but something that I can still drive on the weekends and enjoy. I'm not looking for an 8 second car, but I'm also not looking for an 11 second one.
Some ideas I've tossed around are:
98-02 F body (obvious)
83-93 S10/Blazer 2dr
Fox body (preferrably Farimont)
Wondering which route would be the best? The ease of setting up a Fox body's suspension is hard to beat, but it seems that getting A/C in these cars can be a pain? LS1 F-body's are still a little pricey, although I've seen the price drop recently. An S10 Blazer has just been one of my favorite trucks and I think they look mean when done up right.
Also, I'm a big guy (300lbs) and need something that I can get in and out of relatively easily with a cage, which is why I was thinking along the lines of a Blazer.
Any input/opinions would be appreciated!
