I don't think it has a tstat. not sure though.
I would imagine it would be great if you run it like Magnus does. Would require some wireing. Or just get a seperate fan controller and hook it up to the pump.

I have ran the stock t stat/water pump up to this point, but am going to a race mez. pump with no thermostat at all. I don't see it being an issue.

No t-stat, I didn't run one in my old race car and in my Camaro I won't run one, I'll use restrictor plates to keep the water temp where I like it.

This car has always been on the raod more then the track but that is changing this year. So I will cut the stock t-stat and use it as a restrictor plate. In past cars I would pull the t-stat and run restrictor plates. I agree about the water can move to quickly and not pull as much heat out of the motor.

That's why the MEZ race pump is only a 35 gpm pump, so the coolant moves slow enough to have a change to absorb the heat.

i will run with no t-stat to this season. i did it on a road course last year for one event with no issues.
does the t-stat route the water a specific path and with no t-stat, does the water go the wrong way? a tech at evans told me that but I just don't think so.

no, water will just flow with no restriction. Which is why mez. made the race pump @ 35 gpm, so the coolant will move a little slower, making the need for a t-stat not needed.

I'm gonna be installing my pump tomorrow, and there's no hint of a tstat going in anywhere.

You tune the flow with restricter plates, if you have a high flowing pump and it's running on the hot side you put in a smaller restricter plate, you can swap the plates in and out until you find the one that works best for you, most kits come with 3 plates.

I have the same setup as Keith (Magnus). I drove it last night to a car show, 85* out, and it never went over 170*.

ALL Vehicles need to run a T Stat or a Restrictor, not running one will not slow the Water / Coolant down for it to cool properly.

My car runs the same temp in 35* weather and 90* weather. You don't need a thermostat.

I have no t-stat, waterpump is on a switch so I can turn it on and leave it on if needed.

I only have the factory temp guage so the accuracy of that is questionable, but I know that before with the stock pump/tstat the car would get up to 200 and never go over, and now it says a touch under never really goes over. And that is on a day when it's a goos 85 to 90 outside and making 2 passes within a 1/2 hour. My fans come on at 170 and go off at 160 (so once the car is running, they just pretty much stay running) and I have no problems.

All I have in the radiator is water too, no water wetter, no coolant, just regular old tap water, no problems.

Next year I will probably put a big single fan on it and wire it with the waterpump just so I can turn the fan on and off with the waterpump.

I agree 100%. The train of thought that says you need to slow the coolant down to transfer heat is an old wives tale.

It's better to remove restrictions and increase flow.
