An aid which helps drivers adjust the performance of the vehicle to match the index of the class. For example Super Street. The index is 10.90 So you want to run that number. Most of the cars can run mid to low 10's but use a throttle stop to slow it down enough to run the index of the class. Most racers activate it in the first 60ft of the run. Its kinda like letting off then flooring it again but it does it for you.
What Hrod382 is saying is that during the time that the Tstop is activated you would be shifting with a 3speed. It would make shifting harder. also most have manual valvebody trans so a selinoid or airshifter shifts at a certain RPM and the car will not downshift by its self. you just pull it down to first and when you leave the starting line it shifts and when you get to the finish line it is in 2nd or 3rd gear till you pull it back down.
